Why online shopping is the way to move forward

Online shopping and the peoples'attitude towards it is bizarre, I find. On the one hand people love it because it’s what they’ve been waiting for forever, and on the other, they hate it because it means their favourite high-street shops are closing down once and for all. But really, when you compare the high-street and the internet, it’s a hands-down win for online sales. Here’s why:

1) Shopping online means you get to ponder for as long as you wish, and you don’t get hassled and feel like you are being watched by a suspicious shop assistant: how good is that? You can do it any time you like, early or late, and you don’t get any hassle!

2) You can get things for MUCH cheaper online: take beauty supplies for example. The cost of these has sky-rocketed in the last few years and to be honest, it got to a stage where I was just about willing to make my own using household ingredients! Now I can surf the web and not only buy from the UK, but from abroad as well! It’s made me able to time-travel and shuttle between New York and London and Paris whenever I like. I wouldn’t trade that in for anything.

…There have been a few occasions when I have had run-ins with shop assistants, but I don’t get any of that when I buy online…

3) When you really stop and think about it, is the high-street really all that? Come on now…the high-street can be a pain, right? At Christmas it gets so busy you can’t actually think, and in the new year the queues are so long that you wait for hours on end, only to find what you were waiting for is now out of stock. You don’t get any of that with the internet, and the worst thing you probably have to put up with is your internet connection slowing down for a while, making buying things a bit of a pain.

4) Lastly, shopping online is always good because you have a record of where you have been, and an email showing your transaction: this is one of the great things, I find. There have been a few occasions when I have had run-ins with shop assistants, but I don’t get any of that when I buy online. All these reasons and many, many more mean that I truly believe the high-street is a defunct idea that has been waiting to die for quite some time. And now it is, yes, it’s sad, but wouldn’t you rather save money in the long run?
