The Ultimate Irony - The More We Move, The More We Stand Still

The world that we live in is full of inexplicable complications. Big corporations spend millions of dollars on developing customer data management software applications but fail to train their employees to talk to customers in a polite manner. More people die of having excessive nutrition as compared to those who do not have food and starve to death. One really cannot understand which option is more tragic. To die because you are eating too much or to die because you did not have enough to eat - either way, it paints a very poor picture of our race.

What really surprises me is that nobody feels angry about this mess. I am not talking about anger at the government or at some fictional entity. I am talking about anger at ourselves for having converted this place into such a mess. Have we ever stopped and pondered about the possibility of such a mess being present in the world of squirrels or any other animal?

As far as they are concerned, mankind is probably the biggest threat for their survival. As far as we are concerned, our own flaws and follies are our biggest enemies. There is no doubt that we have made huge progress in the past two or three centuries. Considering the fact that riding on a horse carriage was the fastest mode of travel for more than a few thousand years, we have indeed, long way by inventing airplanes that can travel at the speed of sound.

However, why is it that we are not in a position to tackle age old problems? Where is so we are vulnerable against nature? Why is it that we cannot stop fighting wars? Why is it that our political setup has not found a dispute resolution mechanism that does not involve blame? These are questions which, in my opinion, have a huge impact on our future existence. Sadly, I do not find anybody even thinking about it.
