Internet – Is It Becoming The Most Wasteful Thing On The Planet?

posted by admin in Uncategorized

How would you react if you met a child at a party who insisted on having multiple servings of each and every dish without any intention of eating the same? How would you react if the child had one bite and proceeded to throw bulk of the food on the ground before demanding more food? You would obviously conclude that you are dealing with a very badly brought up child. Well, this pretty much sums up the manner in which we are making use of the internet today.

There was a time when internet was used to exchange data and information between research institutes. Today, it is primarily used for making frivolous and petty status updates that do not make difference to anybody in this world. A 'click here for d q globals data management page 'may be acceptable because it offers additional information and provides value. Bulk of the jokes, images, videos and other such stuff circulating on the internet are completely useless. Some of them are humorous while others make us think.

However, bulk of the content to simply happens to be rehashed content being shared between the same old users. Well, don’t you think it is time to stop this huge waste? Of course, internet has also positioned itself as a really strong protector of free speech. However, free speech is not necessarily a meaningful. Most individuals on the internet simply use it as an excuse to avoid interacting with other human beings in real life.

Is this how we should be using the valuable resources of our planet? Sooner or later, we will be forced to ask tough questions as far as our internet usage is concerned. Until then, we have the option of behaving like the child who insists on wasting food without any regard for the consequences. Or, we could start early and come up with a sensible solution to the current problem of wastage of resources on the internet.

Are We Growing Dumber As A Species? A Serious Question

posted by admin in Uncategorized

As time goes by, species evolve into something more intelligent. However, in my opinion, mankind is probably the only species that is evolving into something dumber. Surprised? Well, just take a look at the world around you. Is it not sufficient proof that we are probably the most idiotic species on the planet? The world takes action against the dictator in Libya and defeat s him in a span of a few months. However, this action was postponed for many years until it became long overdue.

On the other hand, the world took action against Iraq when there was no apparent reason for doing so. In doing so, it spoiled its chances of solving a problem in Afghanistan. The end result is that Libya is the only place where the plan really worked. In just a few months. Can you really call that smart?

Well, what else can we expect from a society where there is a lot of knowledge and information but very little common sense? Many people opt for moving and handling instructor training not because they need it but because they feel it will help them earn more money. They realize that they are not good at the thing that they have learned and conclude that the educational institution is to blame. Do you find this illogical? If yes, then can you really accept how banks and financial institutions are being blamed for giving cheap loans when people are to be blamed for applying for them in the first place?

All this would have been really comical had the entire world been a place where there was sufficient food to eat. Considering the fact that millions of people are starving for food, the mess that we find ourselves in assumes the proportion of a tragical irony. Some people say that I think too much. I only say that we think too little.

Transfer Terror

posted by admin in Uncategorized

Anyone who has endured the horrors of public transport in London knows just how unjust the system is. Whether we are trying to use buses, trains, trams or the Underground, we poor passengers so often face long delays. We have to wait either on overcrowded platforms that soon become uncomfortably hot with the press of bodies, or outside in the freezing cold or in driving rain. But recently my rage over this was stoked when I realised that the misery of anything to do with transport extends to the very edges of London, to the airports and another form of transport – airplanes.

It should have been such good fun: a long weekend away with friends visiting Barcelona. A beautiful city with lots of artistic culture, lively nightlife and even a sunny, sandy beach. It should have been a wonderfully relaxing little holiday, and our plan was to extend the break by spending a couple of days in Scotland after returning to Britain.

This plan entailed changing planes at Heathrow Airport. Our plane from Barcelona landed on time at Heathrow Terminal 2. That’s when the horror story began. Anyone who has had to go through the nightmare of heathrow transfers probably knows exactly what happened to us next.

We had what seemed like a very reasonable fifty minutes to make our transfer to the plane to Edinburgh. We had been reassured when booking that this would be fine. Oh, no. No, no, no. We had to get to Terminal 2 through what seemed to be most of the population of the planet, following badly signed directions, walking along what we feared were endless corridors, and gradually getting more and more overheated as the minutes ticked away.

We only just made out connection

We only just made our connection, sticky and sweaty and absolutely furious with the ridiculous system at the airport. London is supposed to be a major capital city, and Heathrow is supposed to be an international airport! Why can’t they have a better transfer system? Why can’t they have better signs? Why can’t they provide buses between the terminals for passengers? Why does this always happen to me?

The Ultimate Irony - The More We Move, The More We Stand Still

posted by admin in Uncategorized

The world that we live in is full of inexplicable complications. Big corporations spend millions of dollars on developing customer data management software applications but fail to train their employees to talk to customers in a polite manner. More people die of having excessive nutrition as compared to those who do not have food and starve to death. One really cannot understand which option is more tragic. To die because you are eating too much or to die because you did not have enough to eat - either way, it paints a very poor picture of our race.

What really surprises me is that nobody feels angry about this mess. I am not talking about anger at the government or at some fictional entity. I am talking about anger at ourselves for having converted this place into such a mess. Have we ever stopped and pondered about the possibility of such a mess being present in the world of squirrels or any other animal?

As far as they are concerned, mankind is probably the biggest threat for their survival. As far as we are concerned, our own flaws and follies are our biggest enemies. There is no doubt that we have made huge progress in the past two or three centuries. Considering the fact that riding on a horse carriage was the fastest mode of travel for more than a few thousand years, we have indeed, long way by inventing airplanes that can travel at the speed of sound.

However, why is it that we are not in a position to tackle age old problems? Where is so we are vulnerable against nature? Why is it that we cannot stop fighting wars? Why is it that our political setup has not found a dispute resolution mechanism that does not involve blame? These are questions which, in my opinion, have a huge impact on our future existence. Sadly, I do not find anybody even thinking about it.
